Respondol® ATF 3x6%

Fluorine-free foam for systems built around 3/6% proportioning – 3% on hydrocarbons, 6% on polar solvents.

Respondol® ATF 3x6% is a superior-quality synthetic fluorine-free foam (F3 / SFFF) concentrate from Angus Fire for extinguishing and securing all types of flammable liquid fires and Class A incidents. It is used at 3% on hydrocarbons and at 6% on alcohols and other polar solvents – the same induction rates as conventional 3/6% AR-AFFF. That makes it the natural choice for fire brigades and industrial sites that want to go fluorine free without changing proportioners set up for 3/6% foams. Hexfire supplies Respondol® ATF 3x6% across Central & Eastern Europe and supports your transition from first audit to commissioning.

Why Respondol® ATF 3x6%

Many fire brigades and industrial sites have vehicles and fixed systems designed for 3/6% alcohol-resistant AFFF. Respondol® ATF 3x6% lets them replace the fluorinated foam with a fluorine-free concentrate that is used at exactly the same rates: 3% for hydrocarbons such as petrol, diesel and jet fuel, and 6% for alcohols, ketones, esters and ethers.

Like all Respondol® ATF versions, it is built on a patented surfactant combination that forms a robust, vapour-sealing foam blanket instead of a fluorinated film. It contains no PFAS, so it is not affected by the EU restrictions on fluorinated foams and does not create costs for contaminated firewater or equipment decontamination.

It works with in-line foam inductors, handline branchpipes with pick-up tubes, balanced-pressure bladder tank proportioners and around-the-pump proportioners, and it is applied with air-aspirating devices such as low-expansion branchpipes and foam pourers.

Where Respondol® ATF 3x6% is used

Oil & gas, refineries and tank farms – hydrocarbons such as crude oil, petrol, diesel and aviation kerosene.

Chemical and pharmaceutical industry – alcohols, ketones, esters, ethers and other polar solvents at 6%.

Fire and rescue services with vehicles and equipment set up for 3/6% foams.

Class A fires and vapour suppression – wetting agent for wood, paper and tyres; vapour-suppressing blanket on unignited hydrocarbon spills.

The Respondol® ATF range

Respondol® ATF is a family of synthetic fluorine-free (SFFF AR) concentrates from Angus Fire. All versions share the same patented surfactant technology that forms a vapour-sealing foam blanket without any PFAS. They are 100% biodegradable, GreenScreen® certified, work with fresh and sea water and run through standard proportioning equipment. They differ in induction rate and certifications, so you can choose the one that fits your risks, logistics and existing equipment.

Respondol® ATF 1x3% – see the product page for details.

Respondol® ATF 3x3% – our flagship: one 3% concentrate for hydrocarbons and polar solvents, with UL 162, IMO and LASTFIRE credentials.

Respondol® ATF 3x6% (this page) – 3% on hydrocarbons and 6% on polar solvents, for systems set up for 3/6% foams; tested to EN 1568:2008 parts 3 and 4.

Respondol® ATF C 3x3% – 3% on all fuels, certified to EN 1568:2018 parts 1–4 and ICAO Level B, usable down to −8 °C.

Frequently asked questions

Can Respondol® ATF 3x6% replace our 3/6% AR-AFFF?
Yes. It uses the same induction rates – 3% on hydrocarbons and 6% on polar solvents – so existing proportioners can usually stay. We plan the changeover with you, including decontamination.

When should we choose 3x3% instead?
If you prefer one 3% setting for all fuels, Respondol® ATF 3x3% covers hydrocarbons and polar solvents at 3% and uses less concentrate on alcohol fires.

Can it be used with sea water?
Yes – it has been tested on all fuels with fresh, brackish and sea water.

How long can it be stored?
At least 10 years when stored correctly.
