Respondol® ATF C 3x3%
One fluorine-free concentrate at 3% for low, medium and high expansion foam – certified to EN 1568:2018 parts 1–4 and ICAO Level B, usable down to −8 °C.
Respondol® ATF C 3x3% is a superior-quality synthetic fluorine-free foam (F3 / SFFF) concentrate from Angus Fire for extinguishing and securing all types of flammable liquid fires and Class A incidents. It is used at 3% on both hydrocarbons and polar solvents. It holds certification to all four parts of EN 1568:2018 in fresh and sea water and ICAO Level B approval for aviation use, and it remains usable down to −8 °C with no loss of performance after freezing and thawing. Hexfire supplies Respondol® ATF C 3x3% across Central & Eastern Europe and supports your transition from first audit to commissioning.

At a glance
Why Respondol® ATF C 3x3%
Respondol® ATF C 3x3% combines the simplicity of a single 3% setting for all fuels with an unusually broad set of approvals. EN 1568 parts 1 to 4 cover medium and high expansion foam as well as low expansion foam on hydrocarbons and polar solvents, and ICAO Level B confirms its performance on aviation fuel fires.
Its lower freezing point makes it a good fit for vehicles and installations exposed to winter conditions: it can be used down to −8 °C and keeps its performance after freezing and thawing.
Like all Respondol® ATF versions, it forms a vapour-sealing foam blanket using a patented surfactant combination, without any PFAS. It is proportioned with conventional portable and fixed foam proportioners and applied with air-aspirating discharge devices.
How Respondol® ATF C 3x3% is used
Respondol® ATF C 3x3% is one of the few fluorine-free concentrates certified across the full EN 1568 range – low, medium and high expansion. One concentrate in stock can therefore feed handline branchpipes, medium-expansion branchpipes and high-expansion generators, always at the same 3% setting.
| Application | EN 1568 part | Typical equipment |
|---|---|---|
| Low expansion – burning hydrocarbon fuels (petrol, diesel, kerosene) | Part 3 | Foam branchpipes, monitors, foam pourers – e.g. HI-COMBAT™ LEX |
| Low expansion – polar solvents (alcohols, ketones, esters, ethers) | Part 4 | Foam branchpipes, monitors, foam pourers |
| Medium expansion – bund fires, spill fires, vapour suppression | Part 1 | Medium-expansion branchpipes and pourers – e.g. HI-COMBAT™ MEX, Semi-Fixed Bund Pourer |
| High expansion – total flooding of cellars, holds, warehouses and cable ducts | Part 2 | High-expansion foam generators – e.g. HI-COMBAT™ Mini Turbex, HI-COMBAT™ Turbex |
| Aviation fuel fires | ICAO Level B | Airport rescue and firefighting vehicles |
The concentrate is proportioned at 3% with conventional portable inductors – such as the HI-COMBAT™ Portable Foam Uniductors – or with fixed in-line proportioners, and it works with soft or hard, fresh, brackish or sea water.
Where Respondol® ATF C 3x3% is used
Municipal fire brigades – one 3% concentrate on the vehicle for road tanker accidents, fuel spills, warehouse fires and cellar flooding with high-expansion foam, including in winter.
Airports and aviation – ICAO Level B approved for aviation fuel fires on rescue and firefighting vehicles and in hangars.
Industry, storage and transport – tank farms, bunds and loading areas with oils, petrol, diesel, aviation kerosene, alcohols, ketones, esters and ethers.
Enclosed spaces and cable ducts – total flooding with high-expansion foam using foam generators.
Outdoor and unheated sites – usable down to −8 °C with no loss of performance after freezing and thawing.
Class A fires and spill control – wetting agent for wood, paper and tyres; vapour-suppressing foam blanket on unignited spills.

The Respondol® ATF range
Respondol® ATF is a family of synthetic fluorine-free (SFFF AR) concentrates from Angus Fire. All versions share the same patented surfactant technology that forms a vapour-sealing foam blanket without any PFAS. They are 100% biodegradable, GreenScreen® certified, work with fresh and sea water and run through standard proportioning equipment. They differ in induction rate and certifications, so you can choose the one that fits your risks, logistics and existing equipment.
